Squad Up

This feature provides members the ability to scope out a project and find others who share their vision. If you are a project-minded contributor, this is perfect for you.

SQUAD UP COMMANDS

/squad up

• Time for collaboration! This command allows you to quickly scaffold interested contributors about a project idea in mind and further brainstorm to make an idea into a reality.

• Entering this command into any channel will trigger the Squad Up function. Mad Hatter will then DM you asking you to name your project. It’s best to be descriptive but not too verbose.

• After you’ve named your project you will be prompted to provide a brief description.

• You will then be prompted to confirm your squad title and description.

AFTER POSTING YOUR SQUAD, THERE ARE 4 NUMBER OF SCENARIOS DEPENDING ON WHICH OPTION YOU CHOOSE.

SCENARIO 1:

• If you hit 👍 you'll receive this response:

• Click the channel link to head to the #🛸squad-up channel and you'll see this:

SCENARIO 2:

• If you hit 📮 instead, you'll see this:

YOU'LL BE ASKED TO SEND A LIST OF COMMA SEPARATED CHANNEL ID'S

HERE'S HOW TO GRAB THE CHANNEL ID'S:

RIGHT CLICK THE SPECIFIC CHANNEL AND SELECT "COPY ID"

• Repeat the steps for all channels you'd like to cross post your listing on and send them to Mad Hatter

MAD HATTER WILL LIST YOU ALL CHANNELS YOU'VE PASTED AND ASK YOU TO SELECT THE OPTIONS TO PROCEED

• If it's successful, you'll see this:

CLICK ON THE CHANNEL LINK TO PROCEED

• If not, you'll see this:

In this case, kindly reach out to the Guild Coordinator to allow certain permissions for Mad Hatter to cross post and repeat the process again.

SCENARIO 3:

• If you hit 🔃 instead, you'll see this:

YOU MAY NOW START OVER AND REPEAT STEP 1 OF THE PROCESS

SCENARIO 4:

• If you hit ❌ instead, you'll see this:

COMMAND WILL BE CANCELLED

SQUAD UP POSTING

• Now that you've successfully posted your squad listing, all you have to do is wait for interested contributors to raise their hands. After 7 days, Mad Hatter will DM for you to check the channel to get in touch with your contributors.

• If you aren't satisfied with the number of contributors, or didn't find a match after your project briefing, you may refresh the listing by hitting the 🔃 emoji to open up the listing again for 7 days:

• If you're satisfied with your squad, hit ❌ emoji to end your squad up.

WHAT IS SQUAD UP? Within the Bankless DAO, Squad Up is a group of members who have assembled with the necessary skills and interest to contribute to a project.

Squad Up is a way to formally express a need for resources for a specific project within the DAO. The recent addition of the Squad Up function in Mad Hatter makes this a snap by gathering the details of the project, then posts the announcement to the #🛸squad-up channel. After the announcement has been posted Mad Hatter tracks the claiming of the roles, then closes the announcement after 7 days.
